In an oft-quoted speech, Winston Churchill said: â
Never give inânever, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.
The problem with this advice is that it means we spend an enormous amount of time in senseless battles with senseless folks who are also following this advice.
In a community, perhaps it makes more sense to only have battles about honour and good sense. In everything else, sure, give in. Itâll help you focus on what really matters.
